Hemp liquor from Umbria — built from an idea, ground up

Solo — Strategy Through Execution
The Challenge
A friend tasted a cold-pressed hemp liquor on a trip home to Italy. Nothing like it existed on shelves. He wanted to bring it to people who’d actually appreciate it — but there was no brand yet. No name people recognized, no logo, no bottle, no shelf presence. Just a liquid, a name, and conviction.
The job wasn’t fixing something broken. It was deciding what this thing even was, before a single customer could judge it.
Discovery process:
We built the personality together first — what it stood for, who it was for, what it should cost, what a bottle of it should even look like. Not handed down from a brief. Worked out, session by session, between a founder with a vision and someone who had to turn that vision into something real.
A lot of that meant going back and redoing things. The brand color got revisited. The fonts got reconsidered more than once. The mark itself — the “X” that became the whole identity — went through more than one pass before it earned its place. None of that came from the client asking for changes. It came from me, because a first impression only gets one shot, and “good enough” isn’t a standard I work to.
The Roadblock Nobody Warns You About
Every brand needs product photography. This one nearly stalled on it.
We needed the bottles shot a very specific way — floating, anti-gravity, exactly as I’d visualized the brand’s look. Photographer after photographer couldn’t get there. Not because they weren’t skilled — because what we needed wasn’t a photography problem, it was a 3D problem wearing a photography costume.
So I built the bottle myself. Modeled it in 3D, from scratch, until it matched the vision no camera could capture. Once that model existed, everything changed — we could render the bottle from any angle, on any background, transparent or solid, on demand, forever. No more booking a shoot every time the brand needed a new image. The bottle existed once, and it could exist anywhere after that.
That single decision is still paying for itself.
Execution, solo:
Labels, designed to match. Posters and banners for launch. A full Shopify store, built and written together with the founders — content strategy and copy done side by side, not handed off and returned. Then the physical trail a real brand leaves once it’s actually in the world: business cards, stickers, sales flyers.
The Result:
A hemp liquor that didn’t exist a year ago now has a name, a face, a working store, and real, growing sales.
